How are cold pressed cooking oils made?

post2

Cold-pressed oils are made using a traditional and chemical-free method that retains the natural goodness of seeds or nuts. The process begins by selecting high-quality, clean, and fresh seeds like groundnut, coconut, or sunflower. These seeds/coconuts are first cleaned thoroughly to remove dirt, dust, and impurities.
Next, they are fed into a wooden or metal press, known as a “Ghani”, which slowly crushes the seeds/coconuts.

Unlike refined oils, this method uses no heat — the temperature remains below 40°C throughout. This low-heat environment prevents the destruction of vital nutrients, enzymes, and antioxidants. As the seeds are crushed, the oil gradually begins to separate and trickle out naturally. The leftover seed pulp, called oil cake, is removed and often used as animal feed or compost.

The extracted oil is then allowed to settle for a few hours to separate any remaining fine particles. It is not bleached, deodorized, or refined, just naturally filtered using clean cotton cloths. Because there’s no heat or chemicals involved, the oil retains its original flavor, aroma, and color. The final product is pure, nutrient-rich, and ready to be bottled.

No preservatives, no artificial flavoring, just oil in its most authentic form. Each batch is prepared in small quantities to ensure quality and freshness.
This ancient, slow method of extraction may take time, but it’s the reason why cold-pressed oils are trusted for both cooking and wellness.
